What did it turn out to be last time? Did you get anything sorted? Does it seem to be the same problem?

Had this with the GT2 the radio coding has been upset on the fob you will need to reset by pulling the battery lead under the bonnet leave off for a couple of minutes then refit.

That will reset the imobiliser, talking to a radio tech seems that some two way radios or even mobiles and other car fobs can upset the rolling code .

Also check the fuse under the dash not the bonnet on of them can cause this problem, but is not marked as ignition on my car it seemed to be something on the fuel circuit.

A similar thing happened to me after I removed the battery to clean the terminals and I had to go through the reprogramming sequence as per the manual via the ignition switch. Give it a try as it can do no harm. It might also be the battery in the key fob playing up.

ive found a full charged battery will only last 2-3 weeks with alarm on,

is your car even trying to turn over or are you just getting the clicking noise or nothing at all?

without a trickle charger my Vipers batteries would not survive 2 weeks (with the alarm etc on)...a must!

I've just spoken to Zubair so to fill in a few details:

The car cut out after he stopped at lights.
When he tried to restart the car, it turns over and fired up for 2 seconds, then died - it continues to do this.
He can also smell petrol.
The key fob works fine - doors lock/unlock - horn toots as expected - led flashes as expected.

The only thing I can think of is the EEM's (Entry Module) got its knickers twisted and needs resetting.

just looking the issue up on the vca site and found these:

Alarm/Starting
Battery/Charging

How about a call to Mr Tator for help? It does sound like the immobilizer is not disengaging. Mine does this sometimes when I've not pushed the button right. I've learned to listen for the double click from the solenoid in the dash before turning the car on, it must do this or it will do what yours is doing.

Mark (I'll carry on looking)

Edit to add this one - the old hold the 2 buttons trick

Having looked (i.e. I read it after posting it here) at the last thread I posted there is a wealth of information there. The ultimate result was a bad fuel pump relay. Its well worth reading as its the same problem.
