Fog light for MOT

Question 1, Do we have to have em?

Im trying to convert the Right hand reverse light into a FOG! Now heres my question, can you paint the bulb red and that will do or do you have to have a red reflector?

and it has to have an illuminated switch in the cab

You can put a red bulb in but you need a tell tale light within your view inside the car when it is illuminated.
