The loco is 5" and American modeled on an EMD F7 Passenger Loco from the Santa Fe in 'Warbonnet' paint, the company sponsored many Indian tribes.

So far weighs in excess of 150 lbs, has full sound system recorded from the oiginal and uses 2 x 12 volt batteries.

How many hours have gone into it Paul? The paint finish looks great, does it have any interior/engine detail? Looks like a labour of love Paul....very nice.

That looks great Paul! Is it a kit you bought or something you have been building from scratch?
Extremely impressive either way!

It is a kit of sorts but you need quite a fair bit of skill marking out drilling tapping and making loads of mods to suit your model mine has twin headlights as a passenger single headlights were for freight locos, I can take no credit for the paint I had it done professionally, I can paint like that I have over 100k's worth of HO American trains and have won prizes for scratchbuilding and painting but had never tackled something this big and its the paint that make the finished item.

There is no interior detail, I may build some later but it is pretty full with speakers for the sound system, amp, twin tone car horns and electronic control circuits

From memory EMD SD80 MAC sign of the times UP are scrapping them but a lot of the loco's like mine were rebuilt and are still running from the 40's and 50's.

Up also did not have as nice a scheme as everything was yellow and grey no special passenger colours.
