So to be environmentally friendly we just have to plant some trees, on the other hand what do the prius and insight owners have to do the offset the devastation caused by mining and disposing of the fairly toxic chemicals used to make their batteries that only last a fraction of the life of the rest of the car.

Anyway i thought the 08-09 was classed a low emission vehicle anyway. http://forums.viperclub.org/grail-trail/625529-vip...

At least they remark that the Vipers and Lambos are not the big problem - since there are not so many around.

Neil, you can be proud to own TWO of the most polluting cars you can buy biggrin

Total rubbish anyway - I only do 2-3k a year as I suspect many do, some even less wink

Just the usual tabloid scare mongering. Just hope no-one takes notice and starts to target our cars, although they'll have to find us first!

still haven't heard a convincing argument that it is man made carbon emmissions that are causing/accelerating the 'global warming' 'climate change' that (we are being told) is happening...

Point being, there are as many scientists on BOTH sides of the argument; however it seems the be that the anti-car, lefty, sandal wearing veggie brigade have a very powerful media campaign and get the headlines. The reality is that over 75% of the worlds C02 is self generated from the oceans and the plankton contained therein and NOT the car; the car and industry account for less than 2% of the C02 emmitted, so the moral is:- get in your 4X4, super car and enjoy driving them!!

I think you will find that Plankton actually absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere.

Not quite
Plankton or Phytoplankton are the microscopic plants of the Oceans. They photosynthesise like terrestrial plants taking in or absorbing vast amounts of CO2 they do NOT produce CO2, they then produce and release Oxygen into the atmosphere.
