Have been told that if I want to go the Supercharger or Turbo route in the future I need to stay away from the cream puffs? Err what's a cream puff could someone please explain. Cheers Dan

2000 Vipers are what they call creampuffs. Up to 99 the pistons used in the engines were forged. In 2000 they changed to Cast smile Rule of thumb is if you should wish to add bolt on goodies like Roe Superchargers or N2os its better to have an engine with Forged pistons. However there are performance options open to creampuff engines but you just have to go a different route smile

Here's a link to the VCA Site which will explain so myths smile

2000,2001 and 2002's are known in the US as creampuffs

you can still run a low 6lb boost S/C setup like FB on cast pistons, if you want to go higher its best to swap the pistons

ok. a 99 will usually be far less expensive and less hassle if you are after big power gains via supercharger or similar.

I'm sure Dave was only Joking....

You can always just change the pistons in any year viper.. But it is best as already stated to run forged internals for Force feed vipers... 5 lb on a Creampuff ...

Great sounding Viper but I want to buy stock (ish) and do the mods myself.I'm sure its a great Viper but I have a back ground in hydro-engineering and a great workshop to slowly work the mods into the car.I'm sure the mods on this car have been done 100% but I'd just rather do then myself. But thanks for the offer.Would be interesting to know what price a modded Viper goes for over a standard though?
