After a couple of test drives and some soul searching I have begun the push to acquire an SRT-10. James at Atlantic is the first port of call. Needless to say he's been very helpful and is going to see if he can find a home for my replica Cobra as a part exchange. If he can manage that and we can agree a price on the yellow beast he's got tucked away then I think we're in business. I have to say the yellow paint scheme looks a lot better in the flesh than it does in the pictures (don't get me wrong, a GTS looks amazing in yellow, it's the SRT-10 in yellow I'm not 100% sure about). I am currently tempted by the fact that people on here have spoken highly of James and the car (very reassuring to a newbie) and of course it's already in the UK

What do you guys think of a yellow SRT-10? I really want a convertible but is yellow the way to go? Not looking to restart the red/yellow debate, just after some opinions on the SRT-10 - does it wear yellow well? What do you think?

Well had mine for over 4 years it now has 22K on the clock and been all over Europe, and its been a great car, yellow would have been my second choice but the white paint and the funky interior on the Mamba pushed me over the edge, my only complaint on the stock finish is the all balck interior does seem to close in on you but with the roof off what a car.

Not sure of the spec but put a Corsa exhaust on the bill if it does not have one, the stock exhaust with the cross pipes makes the car so hot in traffic, but again I stiil loved it even with that.

Some Americans have found the diff to be weaker but that may be due to to many donuts.

All in all I like it in Yellow

I think the previous owner changed to high flow cats and a new exhaust. IIRC.

Sounded like that when I drove it. Quite a nice sound without being too brash. Quieter than the Dax anyway!

That's it. He's driven it, been in it. I know what happened to me when I first saw one and went in one! It's only a matter of time now.

Gotta get a sensible trade-in quote first! If that comes up ok then James and I can talk about the price and then I can start listening to voices wink

Have you got a price from Hallmark Cars for the Dax as they are normally fairly realistic with their prices.

Nope, It's going to Sovereign on Saturday for an inspection so we'll see what they say first. I'll bear Hallmark in mind though...

PH Classifieds with a sensible price? Surley that's got to be better than a Dealer trade?

Worth a shot, but depends how quickly it sells I guess... Sovereign are good for Cobra Replicas so might work out well...

Dealers like Hallmark do obviously charge a premium but they also give a guarantee with their cars which gives the buyer peace of mind rather than taking the risk privately. They seem to pay a decent price and have a good turnover.
