Long weekend up in Scotland? There are some fantastic roads up there. I did a road trip round Scotland a few years back it was fantastic, pretty easy to find accomodation too... I'm willing to do some digging around and planning if anyone fancies it next year? Take in some nice Roads, Castles, Scenery and Distilleries. (The food was good up there too!)

Here's the first pic I got putting Scottish road into google images... It's pretty representative of most of the roads we drove round whilst up there, the scenery was amazing... driving

Loads of castles up there, one of my favourites... Glamis Castle

The odd Scotch Whiskey Distillery can easily be included in the trip, there are LOADS!

Loch Ness

Anyone fancy it?

id be up for it, Colin and i have chatted about it for several years, though it would probably really need to about 5 days, as its a 5 hour trip from brum just to Edinburgh sitting on the motorway

Well I'm definitely up for it, I'll dig out my info from last time I went and post up some more ideas.

Anything North of Winchester for me, but I really liked it up there last time I was there (about 9 years ago), and the thought of driving the Viper around those roads is really floating my boat.

I'm going to dig out my maps and info from last time tonight and see what I come up with, hopefully Colin will be up for it despite the boredom of doing this kind of thing everyday... biggrin

If Matty is interested that's about 6 potentials, which is enough for me to justify looking into this and attempting to organise something.

Did speak to Richard last night about it, who was uncertain about the weather in Scotland, and mentioned that considering the distances involved he'd rather go the opposite direction and take a trip back to Germany and the ring...

Be interested to hear what everyone else thinks on this one, but having been up there before I am pretty keen on a Highland Run

Yes, come up!!!! It would be great to have a few Vipers up here for a run. I can advise on some great runs up in the Highlands too. You'll never experience roads like we have up here anywhere else in the UK (not least the lack of other cars - the Highland region is larger than Wales with a population of around 200,000!). Nadine and Bjorn have always threatened to come up too. But I wouldn't plan anything until at least mid-April due to the likelihood of bad weather, especially in the west.

It's not the same as 9 years ago Dave, they've ruined the roads wink

There is not one fixed speed camera in the whole of the Highland region. I wouldn't like to say at what speed I've been along that road at... ;-)

But there is also France and over the weekend Brett and I were talking about organising a Swiss raid, basically stay in Germany where its cheap but visit the roads around the area, we did some amazing ones from Interlarken.

And no traffic jams on the French or German roads
