The boots are split, seems like I have to replace the whole link arm which might be a fairly easy job - Pity the MOT is next week... Are there any about in clubland or should I just stick the car in and hope its not picked up whilst the new ones arrive?

I wouldn't worry bout it.
My splits have never been picked up on MOT if it counts at all.

Thanks Ade, I hope that's the case, Chuck tells me the parts are both expensive and on back order! On the upside its not like the boots are doing much on a car that does few miles and doesn't get wet often!

In the mean time, cover the splits up with some amalgating black electrical tape smile
