400 to 450 car upgrade

I have a nice chimaera 400,but im getting the itch for a new one has anybody upgraded from a 400 to a 450.Whats your thoughts.Cheers

I could see why you might want to go to a 500 or a S6 but there is little to choose between an average 450 and a good 400 IMO. My 400 is a late one (X reg) and has exactly the same suspension/transmission/brakes as the 450 and 500 so there isn't even an advantage in that area.

I will now sit back and await the inevitable stick from 450 owners

On the cars I've driven, the 400-450 gap felt greater than the 450-500.

If the OP has a good car, there is always the option of just changing the engine - or going for a supercharger.

Indeed - generally I'd recommend the 450 if you don't have a Chim yet, but if you have a good 400, you'd be better off getting the SC kit IMO, which should give superior performance and driveability to the std 500.
