Cutting out in corners!
Discussion
Sorry, I only seem to contribute questions to this forum at the moment!
About five times now I have noticed my Chimaera 400 (99 plate) cut out in corners... The engine does not stall but the throttle just dies back to idle. Each time I have reacted by pushing the clutch and changing down a gear to try and avoid a stall... it hasn't stalled and seems to pick up again fine. It feels like something on the steering column may be tripping something, or maybe some inertia related issue. The car was fairly low on fuel >6 litres, could the cornering be causing the fuel to temporarily move to the other side of the tank? Or is this a ridiculous thought? From memory is seems to be left handers which are causing the problem!?!
Thanks again for any help!

Really? It seemed a bit to 'precise' to be due to fuel splashing around. It is filled up again now so maybe I should replicate the cornering later and see what happens.
I remember reading something in a magazine about 15 years ago about a TVR cutting out when cornering and from memory it was something rubbing... They also said that TVR's would break down every mile and I have done 10,000 miles in the past 11 months so what do they know!

I thought I was the only one, I had this early days of ownership. I finally traced it to the ECU. The multi-connector had a badly fitted crimp connector. It was slipping in and out of the connector block and therefore disconnecting from the ECU every time I turned right. Worth a look at least.
Once you've eliminate low/no fuel then I would suspect an electrical gremlin somewhere; look for loose connections (or dodgey modifications).
My neighbours car was cutting out on left hand corners once - I traced the fault to the stereo being connected between the actual ignition circuit and the left hand indicators! "Oh yeah, my mate wired that in for me"
