Why would this be any better than what you already have (assuming your OE stuff is working properly)?

Because it was made and designed in the cold war, and nothing works 100% and there's always some thing that needs cleaning, changing, checking or adjusting

What about a nice Webber 500 on that manifold. Im sure i`ve read on here that Rob Robertson is a fan of the big carb and i know several have done so. Gets rid of all troublesome sensors.

Why stop there, you could probably find an old Rover 3 1/2 litre Coupe dizzy with points and cond in it, just to add some more variables into your breakdown scenario smile

Funny, I had the same thought recently, although that wasn't the manifold I would have gone for - there are others that make the conversion easier without those two separate ports at one end. The other things I was considering was that:

1) I'd want to use an air only throttle body, and have the injectors squirting at the backs of the valves - this means getting the manifold modded with injector bosses - would make sense to try to leave the stock spacing to use the OE fuel rails.

2) I would use an Emerald ECU (for no other reason than I've had one before on another car and know how it works)

3) I'd go distributorless ingnition too with coil packs.

Here are a few sites you might find interesting:

I like the idea, the bits aren't cheap though.
