starting problem etc

Hi all, need your advice ,,,im sure this is on another thread somewhere-----anyway when i turn the ignition key on my L reg chim,,it just makes a ''click'' sound,,nothing happens,,''well red and orange light come on'', i have to turn the key/ignition quite afew times before -- then it will suddenly start. I am guessing started motor? Is there anything i can try to stop this.
After the initial clicks it does start,,,and is completely fine,,

If it is starter motor,,,how much is it,,,?

When i lock the car the indicator all on drivers side come on and stays on, again something to do with the alarm as when i unlock it the indicator all go off..
anything i can try with this one? without undoing the dash board etc...

Pre-engager sticking in the starter motor as a best guess... I've mantioned this quite a few times lately and sorted mine out one afternoon with some WD40

thats great thanks for that...sorry to be bit think here,,,where is the starter motor ?,,,or where can i give it a spray!!,,,,thanks for the link!!...

Its under the car roughly in the middle below the Plenum Chamber and you have to take the starter off and spray inside it, not just coat the outside I'm afraid. From memory its directly above the Brake Master cylinder. (?)
