Ok, looks like i need to get my brake master cylinder out.

Whats the procedure for removing the peddle box?

Im going to assume:
- drain clutch + brake resevoirs
- remove steering column
- remove brake/ clutch lines from the bulkhead block
- remove retaining bolts (2 on top, but where underneath?)
- extract
- mop up brake fluid.

I'm just putting my Griffith back together after a brake master cylinder replacement.
I'm not familiar with the Chim specifically but have a mate who has one and we'll be doing some work on his tomorrow so I can have a look if its the same and can then offer advice if it would help.
What year is yours?

What I will say though is this is one of the most difficult PITA jobs I have done on my Griff to date, although I didn't remove the steering column which would certainly make the whole thing easier.

Does anyone have a photo of the drivers side wing, I might be able to tell from that how similar they are and be able to help.

I undid the 4 bolts on top of the inner wing, the 2 in the drivers side wheel arch. This allowed me to mome the whole pedalbox assembly to a position where I could unbolt the master cylinder from the servo through the opening where the clutch master cylinder was. Then passed the master cylinder with its pipes over the top of the pedal box into the drivers foot well.
Putting it all back together I did NOT put the resevoir on the master cylinder. Bolt the cylinder to the servo, put pedal box back into correct position and bolt into place, then put resevoir on Master cylinder fill with fluid and bleed.

Hope that helps.

I did the same as Pink Floyd - in fact I hijacked his thread (sorry about that mate)

only when refitting I did it in this order

put the BMC and reservoir through the access hole
fitted the reservoir to BMC
fitted the BMC to the Servo
Fit brake pipes to the BMC only.
Bolt down the Servo
Refit the pedal box @ - taking care to ensure the brake & clutch pipes are over the box in the correct location before bolting in.
Refit the brake pipes to bulkhead
Refit the clutch master @
Refit the brake and clutch pedals.

@ (these are ABSOLUTELY a 2 man job)

As per your other thread it might be worth PM'ing AirconAde as he did the job without removing the pedal box.

Cheers,
Matt
