I am only writing this because I see as many Porches on the road as I do Mondeos (no offence to Mondeo drivers), and I will never understand why.
Take a look at this info on the new Porsche 911 (codenamed 997) making it’s first appearance at the Paris Motor Show in late September.
This info comes from a newspaper article in ‘The Straits Times’ (Singapore), dated 15/05/04.

Porsche 911 Carrera
3.6 horizontally opposed, 325bhp
0-100kmh 5.5 secs
Price – S$470.888 = US$273.772

Porsche 911 Carrera S
3.8 horizontally opposed, 355bhp
0-100kmh 5.3 secs
Price – S$527.395 = US$306.625

These prices are exceptionally high as would be somewhat cheaper) it is obvious that you could have any TVR (real car) for much, much less, and you would end up with (as most of us have), a car that is better looking, accelerates quicker, sounds better (V8 rumble), turns more heads, comes in better colours, etc, etc, etc.
Need I say more?
