When I pop the bonnet and try to close the bonnet on the catch it will not catch until I leave it on tickover till the bonnet is hot and supple then the catch engages. Or is trouble comming my way as I dont remember allways doing this

Hi,
There are several adjustments that you can make. You can adjust the little cams that the bonnet edges sit on, although these are generally to stop it bouncing when driving. You can adjust the striker plate (i think) where the catch is but a quick that you could try is to remove the little rubber sleeve (if you have one) that goes around the little pole on the trailing edge of the bonnet that goes into the catch. I did this with mine after it developed problems with latching.
Cheers, Matt

Cold or hot, I always use the same technique....

....lower the bonnet down carefully, so it is resting on the catch - lift up the bit of bonnet close to the drivers wiper blade by about 2 inches (where the catch is) and firmly close the bonnet applying pressure in the area where I lifted it with the palm of my hand....

Closes (and catches) every time....
