These pictures are on another thread under General Gassing - Do owners of certain marques etc..
I thought it summed up the Griff boys rather well

If someone knows how to post the actual photos it would help!

As a TVR 'outsider' I'm not sure I understand the banter between Griff and Chimaera owners? I was reading up and came across a Wikipedia page for the Chmaera that implied the Chimaera is more of a cruising version of the Griffith, so kind of thought the opposite of the way it seems to be portrayed on here.

Just to be clear though I'll be looking for a Chimaera myself, I'd like to understand the banter. smile

I wouldn't necessarily believe everything you read on Wikipedia; my understanding is that the entries could be written by any old Tom, Dick or Harry.
First time I'd heard of Chims being used for cruising eek

Sorry I misquoted, they said it was meant to be more of a long distance tourer. Of course I realise that you can't take it 100% (or maybe even 10%) due to the source(s).

Wiki said:
The Chimaera was intended to be the long distance tourer of the range and as such was longer, more spacious and had slightly softer suspension than its sister car.

Oh dear what have I started. smile I can't say too much as a non owner, but the only Chimaera I've been in wasn't cruised to the tanning shop...it was blasted down to Goodwood chasing a GT3 RS (and doing a good job of it). I also prefer the looks of the Chimaera myself at the risk of sounding too superficial, plus I have a good head of hair, so don't need a wig. wink

As a Griff owner if you're looking to buy a TVR I can tell you that they're both pretty raw and hardcore - a 911 is a very much more civilised beast to drive but less rewarding because of it.

After that it's a question of whatever floats your boat, anything else is just banter!

Personally it's the Griff for me - shades of the Aston DBR1 and D type Jag in there.

The Chim is more Healey'ish

Just remember the Griffith was the eventual development of the road-going Tuscan Race car project. The Chimaera was designed around the need to fit 2 x sets of golf clubs in the boot.
