Japanese technology meets British Engineering:

I installed my brand new Nakamichi Head Unit two weekends ago and then went abroad! I returned today and the car wouldn't unlock. Strange. Looking inside confirmed my worst fears. No comforting flashing alarm lights. Nothing. So, a very, very dead battery, which I can only presume has been systematically drained by the only new addition to the entire car. A Nakamichi head unit.

Of course, I couldn't get in the car as the central locking was dead, so I had to break in and open the doors from the inside. Amongst much cursing my shiny new battery (see previous post) was extracted and is currently on charge in the kitchen as we speak.

I cannot fathom what in this God-Forsaken head unit is sucking away the power, as the connections are exactly the same as the old Sony, and the facia was off, and to all intents and purposes it was dead. I guess that now it will have to be fitted with an external switch. Swear swear swear.

James, You remember how when I came over you had left the radio on softly ... hope you haven't inadvertently done it again.

I've got the details of that Accumate charger I showed you in my boot if you're interested ...
