Hi, looking for a little advise.. after getting caught in the rain over the weekend and the ongoing damp smell I have identified several wet patches in the chimaera. The first being behind and under the drivers seat and its seriously wet!! I assumed the water had come in from the velcro part of the roof but it doesnt appear that the water is trailing down from there, Also I have water proofed the hood recently. Is there any chance it could be coming in from under the car?

The second is in the boot, on the left hand side of the petrol tank leading back towards the rear light. I have checked that the rear light is sealed also the rear number plates lights but there isn't any signs of water in those places.

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated
thank you Richard

Elephant ears for 1 and fuel for 2?
Given your PH name and the post title I was expecting the worst.

Rubber triangle behind each door at the base of the mullet section. It stops the water running off the mullet sides and down behind the seat/seatbelt area. They get brittle and fall off.

heres a tip worked for me. my hoover attachment fits exactly in slot for heater vents in front of hand brake. i attach hoover hose to the attachment direct it to wet patch and run the heater on full and go for a nice drive, voila, one dry car ;-)

Thanks for the tip, sounds like a good way to get rid of the wetness whilst I track down the source of all the water.
Cheers

Also check that the sealant around the brake reservoir & Clutch reservoir cover are actually sealing.
Thats where my wet patches were coming from :-)
Others have also suggested the rivet holes around the info plate & where the cables go into the wing under the bonnet too.
