18" Tuscan Spider Wheels
Discussion
quote:Not a big job you say??? So if you drill 4 more holes you will have eight or nine to play with so then what weld up the unused 4? and then what re-spray/coat the whole wheel and what about the off-set, you may need to add more alloy to the back face of the wheel in order to get that correct? Sounds like a whole load of work to me? R...
Very Nice car andrew, good to see your still coming back to the best forum though!! Not to bad a job really all you have to do is redrill the hubs! Does anyone know who is the manufacturer those wheels??
You would be better off getting hold of the manufacturer and getting them to give you wheel with no holes in it so that you can then drill the new holes properly. You don't want to weaken the wheel by drilling loads of holes in it and bodging up the un-used ones... You really need your wheels to stay on the hubs...
spacers aren't too much of a problem either, so it shouldn't cost that much to get the conversion done, maybe £30 per wheel.
Cheers,
Paul.

Its a marvellous idea and one I have persued.
First option: Changing hubs.
Massive amount of work on the whole, as assured to me by a mechanic.
Second Option: Modifying Hubs
Far too risky, I wouldnt want to be running on drilled/welded hubs at 150 on a track day.
Third Option: 4 stud Tarantula's
PW has expressly told the manufacturers not to offer the tarantula wheels in a 4 stud fitment as he wants to keep the look of the T cars on the T cars.
Final Option: Replica Tarantula's
Found a company in Hungary who can copy wheels, fella said about £80 a wheel. I'm not at all convinced that they wont be made of tin foil for that money. See the risk of option two.
Far too much work on the whole, gonna have to wait until I can afford to spec a new Cerb I reckon.
Matt.

Ok, so how about tackling it from another angle...
You could modify the Chimaera's hubs to be 5 stud. This would not be particularly cheap, but it would be cheaper than comissioning a set of one off replicas from a reputable manufacturer.
Just a thought, it depends how desperate you are!
