Hi,

removed, cleaned, painted and re-sealed one of my rear lense covers, and they looking at them lhey looked odd as the remaining one looked tired and dirty on the inside.

Removed the other one today and someone had prevously re sealed it with bloody silicone and i can not get the silicone of the body work.

Any suggestions?

Cheers
MArk

Acetone apparently - you can get it from the chemists - but be careful it removes all sorts of things including the surface of leather seats. Its what you use to strip the surface off leather as well as a million other uses.

I thought Acetone also stripped paint yikes

Acetone is ok on gel coat, but then only damp not wet rag, but not on a painted surface. nono

Ignore the reviews, suggest they thought it would work miracles! Need to remove most then apply this stuff and it worked well for me.

Any good plumbers merchant (or Screwfix) should sell silicone remover

Screwfix silicone remover works (just), but you need to remove as much as possible by hand first. It only removes the residue.

your thumb - If its a small area and you can get it to a thin film rub it hard and the friction should break it up.
