Secret entry broke
Discussion
Not sure how to put this so that I dont give anything away but if anyone thinks Ive put anything I shouldn't then please remove it.
Basically while messing about today in a certain area I came across the secret thing, but the plastic on the rear of the secret part is snapped so it now won't pull the secret cable to open the you know what. Can I get a new plastic bit or do I need a complete new secret part and either way where do I buy them from??? Just don't want to need this one day and be unable to use it.

dead battery = dead solenoids surely ? = can't open doors to open bonnet, boot or access footwell
with my prev 94 4.3 at least i could still operate locks off the key
what have i missed ?
Just apply a bit of lateral thinking dead battery = dead solenoids surely ? = can't open doors to open bonnet, boot or access footwell

Not all of the systems require a battery and they are accessable with a bit of ingenuity.
I understand if it was just flat battery I could power it up from under the engine, but just thought it would be worth fixing the proper entry method incase there came a time when I needed to get in for a reason other than flat battery.
It's not the cable that's broke, it's the piece of plastic the cable attatches to (the bit that turns to pull the cable) Wondered if you could just order the plastic part or did I need the whole unit that you turn.

Are we on boots here or something else
So for the early cars there is a certain secret cable for a certain secret thing, but for slightly later cars (my 96 for example) there is a keyhole * on the back of the car that can be used for the same thing.
As for the main section of the car I find a broom handle makes it much easier, not giving any more details about that

OK Peeps Nothing here too informative I hope, let me know if you think there is just press the report and I'll be on it.
He has an the additional "key entry" now during operation the key via the barrel operates a cable (pull) release.
This cable is housed in a plastic sleeve around the barrel of the lock and this has disintegrated making the cable operation via the key turning invalid, ie he can now only pull the cable with pliers when it's in the open position and not closed position using the key.
