No worries, cargo arrived home safely!

Despite the worst weather Germany could throw at her she made the trip without missing a beat and keeping her carpets totally dry!. Only got to take the roof off for 50 miles in Belgium and 150 miles in the UK during the whole trip because of the thunder storms. Roof up and sensible speeds on the wet roads kept economy to an average of 27.4mpg and the best day was over 270 miles between fill ups averaging 29.4mpg, not bad for a dirty old great 450.
Managed to hit 130 on the a-bahn for a short while, but most was done at 75-85mph. The weather was 33oC for the first day and after sitting at almost 90 for a while the temp gauge wouldn't budge off 85, so eased off a bit and it returned to a more normal 80oC.
Only surprise was that she used over 1 litre of oil during the trip.
German roads great, Belgian back roads awful!
Called in at Heidelberg, Freiberg, Neuswanstein and Nurburgring. The rarity of TVR on the continent really turns a few heads with the locals, with people taking photos and coming up for a chat about the car (often driving much more expensive cars) but I guess that's what TVR is all about.
Apart from the weather a great trip and much more an adventure than doing it in a modern/everyday car.

We went via Hull to Zeebrugge with no problems at all. Glad I wasn't one of the front 3 cars though, as they were parked on the 1 in 4 exit ramp. Only lightly caught the sump once on a high access plate in a petrol station but front end fine.
Crickey those race prepared 911 GT3 RS's are bloody quick around the ring! They must be hitting 170 down the start - finnish straight.
You heading for the continent soon Tom?

Excellent! Reminds me of my trip last summer around Southern France, no hint of any kind of problems and I think I got over 300 miles to a tank (400) Great stuff.

Did you go on P&O's new ferrys or are they only on Dover to Calais?

No, I certainly wouldn't describe them as new, but they were clean and efficient. The grub was OK if a tad expensive at £24 each for as much as you can eat tea and breakfast. I would recommend travelling during the week as you save quite a lot when compared to Saturday's, (guess which days we had to sail rolleyes )
Could have got a bit more booze in the boot if I'd thrown a few of the wifes bags out though!

Was thinking of visiting my eldest, who is working in copenhagen for the summer but its a tad to far to drive, so we have decided to fly instead. Maybe a few days in northern france, or even a visit to the "ring" before summers over, no definite plans.
We went regularily from portsmouth to cherbourg on the fast ferry [seacat]for family hols a few years back.yikes you should see how they stack them on that particular ferry. NO CHANCE for the chim. The handbrake would never have held itself. All the parking on there was at a really steep incline and a bit like parking on a spiral staircase.
