Call Dom I'd have thought he's the most likely source for them - genuine one's anyway wink

hi spend, thanks will give him a shout. i did email him last week asking him about them & about whether he would have the build history of my engine as i have no paperwork with the car to tell me if its a normal 430 or a bv430.i havnt heard back from him yet! i had a quick power run done a few months ago which came back as 279 at the fly. thats still on the tvr factory chip & original air flow meter. it has been fully de-catted tho. cheers for the reply. thumbup

279 sounds like a B/V. Mine feels very strong & its around 250 & that's with a Mark Adams chip & map. thumbup

thanks for that wyn, its all just a bit of a mystery car, ive got no build sheet or info on it. it did look at one point as tho it was a special build for clive greenhalgh who used to own team central in birmingham. its got a 45 engine number but after much head scratching i had jason at str8six drop the sump & send some pics of the crank to dom at tvr power who confirmed it was a 4.3 crank.

I wouldn't be too bothered with the build sheet, you never really know what's been swapped / replaced during it's life?

There are 4.6's of not too spectacular spec making over 300bhp with just larger valves (1.63+1.4") on std seats, and I wouldn't say they had such nicely ported heads as any of the 430s. ISTR mention of a 430 making good power with valve work like that a few years ago on here in a thread & questioning the extra effort to upgrade with UBV's (new seats).

ah ok, cheers spend. i dont think it was this car though, judging by the state of it when i got it i dont think anyone had shown it much attention for a while! at the moment its got the act carbon fibre trumpets on it but i dont know if they are matched to the inlet manifold. would it be worth putting the act 5 litre spec trumpets & ported manifold on it? many thanks for your time. thumbup
