Just had a soaking due to to a bit of top down motoring being rudely interupted my a heavy rain storm.... driving
And as if getting a soaking wasn't bad enough it was when I couldn't see out the screen due to rain bouncing off it that I find that the wipers aren't working. banghead
Anyway pressed on and rain-x worked it's magic but now I need to fix it....
Where do I start?
Is the relay just the delay/park unit or if this has failed will it make the whole lot not work?
Any way to test this? are any of the other relays the same?
Or am I barking up the wrong tree..... paperbag

Make sure the timer relay has not just fallen out of the fusebox first Steve, then the fuse, followed by checking for power & cleaning the connector at the park switch with a meter.

All looked well in the fuse box....everything that is listed in the handbook as 'x/wipers fuse' still worked, still have indicators, lights, dash board gauges....
Tried to check for power at the motor but I was reaching my electric limits by then..... I don't think there was any power getting there though. banghead

Why is nothing ever straightforward!
Got the stalks off and with my numpty level proding and probing I can't seem to detect any electricity at the stalk, and of course the 2 stalks aren't the same so you can't swap them round that'd be too easy! banghead
So where should I be sticking my probe......good job I only ever try to go out in the dry! paperbag

Don't blame you for pointing that out! hehe but I'd thought of that. wink
I can find 12v at the indicator and they work....but bugger all at the wiper stalk. frown

Now I don't know if this helps or not but I don't appear to have any headlight high beam flash either.....high beam works with lights on....stalk pushed to the dash, but not flash, stalk pulled away from dash.....

this is bound to be something stupid that'll take about 30 seconds for someone with a clue to sort out....

A censored fuse!

In the handbook all the fuses are listed, and all the circuits are duel so if one thing isn't working if it's a fuse something else shouldn't be, my handbook doesn't list wipers/main beam as a fuse so as everything else was working I ruled out the fuse, turns out wipers/main dash in my case actually means wipers/main beam..... rolleyes
You've got to love TVR's.... smile
Just got to pit the spagetti wiring back in the footwell now as it started raining before I finished last night!
