Can anyone on here recommend a garage in the North east area that can replace my outriggers?

When I get round to it, mine's going into R T Racing. They're in Shefield but apparently worth the journey.

Yes - SD Autotec at Boroughbridge ( formerly SSCC). Steve Darville does a great job, I've seen his work first hand. He's competitively priced as well.

Slightly off topic so apologies for that, but are SSCC no more?

What's the best price for having these done?

I've heard Sebring can do a good job for £1500 which sounds reasonable.

Anyone know anyone cheaper - Just curious, mine are rock solid, but useful to know for the future.

No, John still sells the cars under the SSCC banner but Steve who did all the servicing and repairs has gone independant as SD Autotec

Did you just replace the outriggers or go for the full chassis restoration job?

Had mine done recently by the guys at X-Works and they did a great job for £1350 plus VAT of course. I had extra work done that was sensible at the same time (fuel pipes, wishbones painted up, hotstart kit, 6K service, fit back splitter thing, etc etc. Total was less than some charge just for outriggers. Very pleased with the finished job.

I seem to recall a company called Carvorkz, can't remember the name but was called something like that. They are a TVR specialist and were charging £860 + VAT.

I had my outriggers done at RT Racing as well as a spot of chassis restoration and a host of other work. Excellent job, took a while but worth the wait.

ive been in contact with a garage in the Sunderland area that has been recommended and he reckons its a simple job of cutting the old ones out and replacing with new outriggers? not to sure tho.

Yes it is, but you can't do it with the body on, unless you like the smell of burning fibreglass!

Something I've not seen mentioned on here is whether you can buy the parts to DIY outrigger repairs? I'm handy with a MIG (just doing some inner wing repairs on my RS at the moment) and while I'd prefer to find a car that doesn't need to much (if any) work doing, if it was just the outriggers then it might be a cost effective way for me to get a decent car. Or being realistic, perhaps it's something that'll need doing eventually anyway...

Thanks, though their website doesn't seem to show it as a kit, only them installing, I'll bookmark it just incase. smile

@ Steve Mojo - Was told just the outriggers needed doing, but the photos suggest some work on the whole chassis was carried out. The whole chassis came back painted after a full body off.
