New Owner - a couple of questions
Discussion
Morning All
I have owned the car for a month now and starting to really get into it. I am slowly tarting her up and would like to know a couple of things please:
1). The heat shield stuck to the bonnet - this is peeling away and falling off - I have tried to glue the corners back with evo-stick but it just seems to keep falling off so I am planning to remove it completely and re-stick it. Can anyone recommend a suitable adhesive ??
2). The hood (dark blue) is a little green having spent time parked under a tree - can anyone recommend a good method of cleaning ??
3). The door carpets (originally dark blue) have faded - what could I use to re-colour them back to their former splendour ??
4). Windscreen rubbers fall off (replacement fitted by a moron) - what can I use to secure these back as the things I have tried havn't adhered to the glass ??
Many thanks Guys and hope the Le Mans trip goes well to those concerned.

Can't really help but I've got the same problem and have managed to temporarily 'spot-glue' it using superglue just on the rubber surfaces until I get it properly fixed by a professional.
It seems to be working well still after quite a while ... well I'd miss the car if I had it fixed during sunny weather!
Hi BS,
Hope this helps:

Apparently silicon adhesive works - search the forums for HEAT SHIELD several threads on the subject

Renovo
3). The door carpets (originally dark blue) have faded - what could I use to re-colour them back to their former splendour ??
People have had good results with Suede Dye - available in many colours from Timpsons (the shoe shop)
4). Windscreen rubbers fall off (replacement fitted by a moron) - what can I use to secure these back as the things I have tried havn't adhered to the glass ??
Clear silicon worked for me - Halfords sell stuff for windscreens
