Wooden steering wheel
Discussion
Easy mate - Momo !
I have one on mine ('Fighter' I think) which has the same wood as the dash (much nicer than black leather !) with a couple of leather grips at 'quarter to 3'.
You will probably need to get the Momo boss as well.....
Good luck, its a worthwhile upgrade

can you not get one from TVR then?
there were an option right?
From memory it was an option on the Wedge not on the Griff or Chim, I bought mine out of Splint but one recently changed hands on Ebay for £320!!!!

Wooden know !
My Chim has one when I bought it last December. I was led to believe that it was a TVR option. Try ringing TVR Gear on 01253 727211 .Think they sell TVR steering wheels, not sure about the wooden ones tho.
Morning all
My first post as a newbie, so I thought I might try an make it a useful one as well !
I tried to track down a wooden steering wheel for months, and it turned out to pretty near impossible. Most of the ones you see come with car attached (understandably)
After a bit of a google search however, I tracked down a source for 'Personal' wooden wheels on a US site: www.sportscar-parts.com/steering_wheels.html
There are basically two types that look good IMHO
Personal Tornado 100W Mahogany wood/spokes and ring in polished aluminium 350mm ref: 5465.35.3000
Personal Monza W Mahogany wood/polished spokes and ring in polished aluminium 365mm ref: 5456.36.3000
The Monza wheel is exactly the same as the one originally supplied through the dealers (with the minor exception that there is a etching of the Monza racetrack on the vertical spoke). The Tornado wheel is also v.good and is the same size as the existing leather wheel at 350mm. It's also a little chunkier which makes it a little better to drive with. This is the one I have on my car.
The wheels are not listed on their site, but I contacted them by e-mail and they were really helpful & sent them with a couple of weeks from the States. I bought both (not being able to decide which was best without seeing them in the wood). Even though posted from the States and associated tax/UPS carriage, they were pretty good value (approx. £280 for the two).
From your profile I see that you're localish to me. I can be mostly found trundling between Southampton and Bournemouth in the summer. If you want to see them let know via my profile. HTH.
To get full VFM from my first post and try out a smiley. A big thank-you to this forum. It is a great resource of info/humour, a great supplement on top of the standard TIV-grin.
A special
to all the Soton based TIV drivers. Too many 'spotteds' to mention, but you know who you are. Promise the next post will be shorter.

Slightly off topic now that honestfreddie has sourced a Momo - however if anyone else is looking I thought I might add a suggestion. Have also been looking into wooden wheel for my chim and have been tempted by a Moto Lita, British made so reckon keeps a nice link with TVR and reports suggest they are of superb quality. Their website www.moto-lita.co.uk shows boss Kits available for all makes of TVR's, looking at Mark 3 Thin slot myself.
Like T4Tiv, my first post so hello everyone. First TVR bought in Dec and loving it so far.

I've fitted a MOMO FIGHTER in wood on my chim. Looks good and the wood is a good match with the dash. You will need a momo fitting kit I got the one for the Vauxhall calibra (same as the cavalier) Fitted great but you cannot use the TVR badged horn push but the momo branded one is ok.
