Derek definitely OutDazzes the silicone trick..
Come on Daz you're in danger of being knocked of your pedestal?
Derek must have had a hand in Hammonds flying car judging by recent calamaties

I think it will take him several years to kick back & the see the funny side though

The difference here is that overall, Derek has demonstrated an ability to do something well, this is just minor deviation from his modus operandi. For this reason it would be unfair to give him my vote for muppet of the year award.
Daz will no doubt be winning the award for some years to come, being totally clueless with cars has given him an unfair advantage over any other possible contenders, a bit like the Vettel of the muppet world.

Don`t know if you have noticed but im not posting any problems with my car apart from a hot start issue which just needs setting correctly on my megasquirt and a few minor electrical problems ,electric wing mirror and courtesy light which im not bothered about.Apart from that everything is good..almost forgot the odd moan about mpg.Must be doing something right
WHAT HAS HE DONE ?

S
t so he rebuilt his engine then forgot to fit the spacer!then drove the car with the oil pressure light on..
Quote
Set off for mapping, 30 miles all good then notice oil light and no pressure. Pulled over, oil ok on dipstick and wire is still attached to sensor.
Engine starts and runs fine.
Just a glitch?
quote
It seems the extra spacer is missing
Don`t worry i have a few spare tubes of silicone which may do the trick ..Infact i can help you rebuild your engie..

What is the story with the Silicone then?
Ok just for you...and a warning to others it could happen to anyone.I used a liberal amount of heat resistant silicone on the sump and has a result the silicone pushed through it to the sump making about a 1" lip on the inside..has time went by the hot oil broke the silicone done resulting in blocking the oil pick up.The new MC1 was kn
ed and the engine..now you know
