Give them a call pay for it over the phone then i will post it for you..Im going there next week to get the hot start problem sorted..Once you have paid for the clutch email me the address ..Ask them about your fly wheel it may just need machining but im not sure ..The weight is the problem for delivery..Clutch is not to bad..

Hi,
Ive just swapped my engine over from the TVR500 to a V8D 5.4 so I had to use a different clutch/flywheel to cope with the power.

The difference is quite amazing, the helix is very snappy and not very progressive compared to the 500 clutch (which I guess is a standard RV8 clutch) Its very hard to get a smooth take off now, not impossible and Im getting used to it, but its no where near as smooth as it was.

unless you have to swap it over due to power reasons I wouldnt say it was a worthwhile upgrade to be honest,
Phil

It will be if you fit a supercharger or do any major mods in the future so i would go for the 5l clutch.I have the 5l clutch from V8D when i had the engine rebuild ,don`t know what type it is but not had any problems even with 340bhp.Its a bit heavy but they all are.I would keep away from the BorgBeck clutch i had one in my 4l and i could not even handle the power and supplied from a major well known TVR supplier.

Still tuning it right now, but the TVR 500 engine made 290Ft/Lbs of torque and 270BHP, the 5.4 should easily make 380ft/lb and 350BHP. Indeed it hit 350ft/ibs at around 3000rpm on V8Ds dyno, then the dyno slipped, so those will be realistic figures.
Good base for adding a blower to

That does not sound like a good start to the path of a reliable clutch frown

I have a Mcleod will handle anything you can throw at it and it feels like a standard clutch, i did a lot of research before buying it and its definitely stands out from the rest

My Helix clutch was very grabby at first.

I stalled the car twice after it had just been fitted frown .

And I thought:

"Oh no, perhaps fitting this uprated clutch was a mistake".

But all that soon went away, I have now done a 1000 miles on it and it's as smooth as silk.

TBH I now don't feel it's that much heavier than my standard clutch was.

Recommended.
