Hi.Just getting the meta alarm problems sorted when i noticed oil on the floor under the beast.I have now traced the source to the front end of both rocker cover gaskets .Could anyone advise me if this is a serious problem?any ideas if it is an easy job that i could do myself? Appreciation in advance for help.(Chim 4.0,97 ,17560 miles).

Common problem on RV8's apparently. You might get away with tightening the rocker cover bolts (they can and do work a little loose). If it's not bad then monitor it and check you oil level regularly. If you really can't stand it then I believe it's a fairly straight forward job - standard RV8 gaskets from the Land Rover dealership. However, some have cork gaskets and the later ones are rubber. Yours is 'on the cusp' methinks and could be either!

Hope that helps.

Had mine done, cost about £300-£400 through a main dealer.

Mine has the aircon plumbing, which makes it a bit more difficult to get to, but I don't think it is a too difficult job.
The main problem is getting under the plenum.
