I have to say chaps that these really are good bits of machinery. The only dollar laid out so far is for regular servicing and a recored rad, which I changed myself.
The only 'hairy' moment was a bit of aquaplaning in the winter, we're 11,500 miles travelled and I still have the silly grin every time I go out.
And the noise.......so glad I convinced my wife a Cooper S was a bad choice.

I'm pretty much a year in too. Nothing wrong with it at all! Just keep on top of things. For example my recent stained swirl tank - it only needed to be flushed and it's all fine again but left alone it would have eventually led to overheating. I had near enough the exact same problem with a previous 635csi BMW so not TVR's fault at all!

My reliability crusade marches on

I'm nearly 2 years in and the only bit of unreliability was the £10 fuel relay failing. But she still got us home (after stopping to let it cool down every 5 minutes!). Atleast with TVR using many components from other manufacturers stock cars, many fixes are quite affordable. Would dread to think how much porsche would want for the same part etc!

My first year hasn't gone quite so smoothly due, but my previous TVR - an S3 - was one of the most reliable cars I've owned and I see no reason why a typical Chim shouldn't be every bit as good.
