Following the powder coating of the plenum just started car and its revving its nuts off at just under 3000 rpm
I have checked the butterfly in the plenum thats closed. the pot is spring loaded so i take that to be at zero but took it off and turned it with the engine running lowered revs slightly but too nothing like a normal tickover speed The tapping for the distributor advance and retard on the plenum is clear other than that I have not touched anything else does anyone have any suggestions please.The accelorator linkage all looks fine and operating butterfly ok

Yes everythings back were it should be as far as i can see

Found the problem when they did the powder coat they removed the idle screw probably not going to get that back ,trip to Rover dealers by look of it.

Got that wrong its an allen key not a slot head screw so its still there

Have you taken off the water heater from underneath? if so out of the 4 bolts 3 of them can bleed air into the plenum, other thing is vacum pipe to the fuel regulator.

No left heater on and pipe work ok to regulator will disconnect ecu see if that does anything

I meant disconnect and reconnect for a reset.
