After a recent starting issue I’ll be getting back to the next task on my list which is fitting a Techedge wideband sensor. Plan is feed this into the megasquirt ECU. Hopefully getting the bung welded onto to the y piece at the weekend, but still have a couple of things to work out:

1. What would be the recommended location for the switched live feed to the controller?

2. The easiest way to connect to the ECU seems to be to disconnect the near side Lambda feed wire, which already feeds the ECU. This is connected below the plenum by a round connector. Ideally I’d like to connect directly to this rather than cutting any wires. However I’ve not been able to fine the same type of connector anywhere, anyone know the part No.

3. Planning to put the Wide band controller in the passenger foot well. Is there a recommended method for running the cables though the bulkhead into the engine bay.

Hi Angus,
1) Feed to the wideband is best to come directly from the battery via an ignition switched relay and through a suitable fuse. This ensures the feed is as clean as possible.
Also ensure that both ground wires from the wideband run seperately back to the Engine Block.

Any suggestions as I am planning something similar.

I ran my cable through the nearside inner wing rubber grommet.

I had to make mine bigger so cut it out to suit [passenger footwell] then just used a suitable size piece of plastic silconed in place and riveted to secure. No leaks.

Phil,

I was hoping there would be an existing switched live that I could use rather than adding an addtional ignition relay. Hardly ever use the radio so thought that would be sufficient. My main difficulty is identifying which wires are which in the pasenger footwell.

There is!, its the narrowband lambda positive feed that comes off either the fuel or main relay (depending on year) in the ECU bundle, normally white/orange IIRC.
