It is with regret that we have been forced into a position of having to cancel all future car meets at Becketts Farm.
Unfortunately we are unable to control the crowds that gather on both sides of the dual carriageway AND in the central reservation to watch cars that leave our site totally out of control, often swerving towards the people standing dangerously close to the road.
On Police recommendation for the July meet, steps were taken to try and tape a barrier so that people at least stood back some way from the road but unfortunately many people, two individuals particularly, not only disregarded this but were verbally abusive to our organisers when asked to step back.
We have very much enjoyed hosting the car meets over the past two years and we extend our thanks to all those who have supported the meets by bringing their classic cars along for show. We also thank all who have attended wishing to enjoy the show and who have shown respect for the community event that we originally wanted to support.

Was a really good meet with a nice variety of cars [and bikes] on display. Good reasonably priced food too and backing music to match. Seems the 'max power' brigade ruined it. When I left I even saw families sat on the island aswell as both sides of road and then thought, 'this can't last'.
Was a good meet went a few times myself. Started to turn it to max power though should of been a bit more selective who they let in. A rover with a bassbox and stickers all over should not be there on the show car park imho.
I found it difficult to leave as couldnt see up the dual carriage way because of the people standing there very dangerous. Only takes some maniac to lose if off the island and there would be death everywhere!
Another one bites the dust!
