Hey guys. Can I get away with 245 45 16's on Imolas? I see in the bible that this size became standard from 1996 on, so will all be okay on a 94 car?

I don't see why you shouldn't, especially as people put larger diameter wheels on the cars.

Some tyre fitters will refuse to fit a 245 on a 7.5j rim..

minimum 8j max 9.5j

You're probably very correct!!

However, comma, I do believe that 16 inch Imolas are all 8J - mine are to the best of my knowledge............but I have been wrong b4!!

You will get away with it but its not recommended..especialy when your doing 130 leptons.
I would decide what tyre your going for and check there website..I had the same problem when wanting to fit 225/45/16 on my pro race front wheels but after going on the Falken website the tyre size was fine for the rim width..I think there only 7J

Yeah they're on, all is well.

Have to say (even though it's just temporary) I prefer how the 225 55 16's look, these are too low profile for me (cosmetically speaking)

What I've done is pinch the 245's off my yet to be fitted 16" spiders because the car's MOT was up yesterday - as it's my main car right now I dont have time to get the hubs machined at the moment so had to just pop these on the Imolas to get through the MOT.

Think you should be running 225/50/16 not 225/55/16 there 22mm larger in diameter..

They had both fitted during it's life. 225 50 16's and 225 55 16's

225 50 16's were on later cars
