Hi,

I'm new to the TVR world. I have a 6cd unit to fit into a chimaera. I understand that the unit should be placed into the boot. Where would be the best place to fit this unit? A photo would be good along with any advise. I don't want damage the fuel tank.

Cheers Chinski.

How do you control the ipod thingy from the boot and how does it wire in to the stereo.I thought you just plugged in to the front of the stereo.

It's basically an interconnection system that Pioneer use that lets you expand things. I took a (fairly old) Pioneer head unit and added an iPod changer:

In the photo above, the disc changer is connected to the head unit, and the iPod is connected to the disc changer.

Click the link in my post above. The iPod sits in the "glovebox" flap in front of the passenger.

Knowing you would probably try it I cannot tell you how tempting it was to post that I send the signal down the fuel pipe to the tank and then dip the cable in the tank (see photo) to get the signal back out at the boot end.

However - it is indeed done using a pioneer CD-IB100 iPod controller and there is nothing stopping you from putting it on the end of a boot changer cable if you wanted it in the boot as I did. It also charges/powers the ipod so other than sync the ipod if and when I choose to from time to time I never have to touch it.
