You all no that Mobil one is a load of crap!! well under advice of several sources I started using theCastrol RS 10-60 well this is exelent oil and my oil pressure is a load higher too. My local car space place is a rip off merchant and charges £45 for 5 litres of it because no one else stocks it locally.

if you ring castorl clasic oils in Cambridge they will sell you 16L 4x4L cans and deliver it wherever you want for an amazing £96.98

Mobile 1 is an excellent oil. I have used it for many years with only good results. The only problem is that it is rediculously priced. I found a 5 ltr jug of it at Costco in Reading for less that 26 pounds (including VAT).



Is the Castrol synthetic?

Iam affraid i agree, Mobil one is emperiors new clolthing. I have taken my Rangie and TVR off it as i hate the start up rattle and the lower oil pressure.

Mobil 1 probably is good oil but not for me or my Griff, all the guys who know anything about engines agree that it is too thin

Just had a service by that well known and respected man near Guildford, he will only put mobile 1 in if you specifically ask for it, believing the only good reason for using it is not to invalidate any manufactures warranty you may have left on the car.
He will, as standard, put Magnatec in as he told me he believes it better suited to the Rover V8 engine.
I'm not going to argue with that.
