I am having idleing problems once it is warm, drops from 1100 to 600 and back up every few seconds. Local TVR garage (not main dealer) says it shows a fault code of 48 but he does not know why. Anyone have a full list of fault codes? Also is it possible to get a circuit diagram for the insides of the ECU?

I wouldn't be very impressed with this garage if they don't know what a fault code 48 is. They should know what each code is, esp. if they are a TVR garage - they obviously have the fault code reader. The answer is that you have a problem with the stepper motor or it's associated wiring.

My suggestion is:

1. find another dealer
2. clean out the stepper motor
3. Check the idle adjustment if the above doesn't work.

I hope it just needs cleaning - check the connector is on tight too.

P.S. I hope you didn't pay them anything.

Thanks for the replies. Yes the garage did know what the fault code meant (stepper motor error) and changed it but the problem is still there. The odd thing is that pin 4 on the ECU should be an earth and mine has no connection and its been like that from new!

I found the full list of codes. Thanks
