Hi All,

In 2000 I started working at Fernhurst TVR and instantly fell in love with the Chimaera's - I've wanted one ever since! Last year I started seriously looking for a Chim 450 and finally, after much research and saving, I've made the leap and done the deal! Woo hoo! I've had the car for just over a week now and have had 500 miles or so of trouble free motoring!

She's a 2000 450 with 32k finished in Dodge Viper GTS Blue with Magnolia and is absolutely mint with no scratches or stonechips (no doubt that'll change and the front will look like a pepperpot in time!).

Are there any events in the south due to take place? It'd be great to meet some other enthusiasts and pick up hints & tips!

I'm looking forward to many happy early mornings, waking up sleepy villages!

Hope to speak to/see you soon!

Rich

Gorgeous colour! Viper blue with cream leather is my favourite combination I reckon. Sounds like a fantastic example.

If you have a look in "General Gassing" there is a thread about TiTT7, AKA Thunder in the Tunnels biggrin

We meet up at a location in East London and then spend a merry morning blasting through tunnels to West London. There appears to be an additional idea this year for a run out to the new Hindhead tunnel where we are able to go through two abreast apparently thumbup

Not sure about waking up sleepy villages but we have been known to wake up a few folk in The City area and set off a few smoke alarms on the way hehe

Sign up, join in and have fun biggrin

Don't know if this is the same car, but I remember seeing a blue 450 with the 500 wheels and magnolia interior in the PH classifieds...it's probably my favourite combination so I hope to have a 'twin' this time next year. smile

Thanks all, it's nice not to be mocked - a Wedge owning 'friend' bought me a tartan flat cap and told me 'now you're a golfer, you need the matching hat'. Cheeky sod! I saw the funny side though...just!

Tunnel rumble sounds good - I went through the Hindhead tunnel last week - it was awesome though bizarrely it sounded much better going south bound! My Chim is going into Fernhurst on Wed to have the exhausts 'improved' so a re-run is a certainty!!

Oh, and I did buy it from the PH Classifieds - the previous owner was a thorough gentleman, it proves there are still some honest and lovely people around!

The guys at Fernhurst seem really nice and have really looked after me well. I hope you have a good trip down there on Wednesday.

Yes that's the one! Well spotted Tich!

Ha ha, I'll definately buy him a cheese knife - good shout there...I was thinking about buying him a fatty patty love doll, just to see if he appreciates curves too...biggrin

That or just remind him that your car is faster, better looking, more practical, handles better and doesn't look like it was styled by a child carrying a set square.

whistle

I would still quite like a Wedge at some point, though.

Better built, too (although that's - in the immortal words of R. Porter - not unlike stating one of the brothers in Oasis swears less than the other).

I have been through a number of times now, but my 400 provides a much, much better sound going north bound!
Checking the current set speed limit boards on the way in, in 3rd, inside lane, picking a suitable gap in the traffic, accelerate and listen, remembering not to exceed 70 at any time (I am sure there are more cameras than average speed ones available to tunnel operators).

Hey, thanks Glenn! I noticed this morning on the TVRCC West Sussex club page - this weekend may be tricky as it's my weekend with my daughter but I may be able to leave her with her grandparents and swan of for a couple of hours!

TunnelSoundTrack - really? That's odd! I was in the inside lane both ways. The car is going in to have the exhausts done tomorrow so I'll give it another go! It may be something to do with a northerly or southerly wind direction?? I really hope there aren't any more cameras in there - I played the average game and made sure I went in and came out at the same point as the car next to me...biggrin
