First TVR

Hi, after eight years in a 911 uber cruiser just purchased first TVR Chim 4.0, 1994M. Car needs some TLC.

I need to rejuvenate the dark blue leather, clean and maybe colour.
Advice please on products, methods greatly appreciated.

Auto Glym Leather Care always works a treat for me, bout 6 quid a bottle but well worth it.

Drop "Pies" a line and ask him what he uses to polish his car. It's a colour restorer and then a wax, but can't remember what it's called...

mate, you're gonna love discovering what these cars can do- and you've bought at the right time of year!

Just take a little time getting used to it and then go a bit easier come Autumn and Winter.

Guys, thanks for the advice.....I'm still smiling after the last two days......had more comments in the last two days than in the past two years in my 911.

Sure, she's got a few problems, idling/hunting being the main one....but basically just seems to need some tlc.

Mmmmmmm...I beg to differ.
If you sell your car privately in Dec Jan Feb to get the cash to buy the new one you receive less. So to make most gain you need to sell your current car in May privately for top money and then wait for six months to buy in Jan/Feb at a decent price. Oh and if you want to buy privately most intelligent people do not sell their beloved car at the lowest point in the market....they wait until Spring !!

In summary I hypothesise that it makes no difference as long as you are happy with the deal.

Huh... were not on about gains here, the comment was "best time to buy".. by your opening sentence you areed that prices are lower in the winter, accordingly financailly its the best time to buy.

Also as summer draws to an end and you get into late autumn you get people selling off the cars they were hanging on to while the good weather lasted.. of course the best time to sell (financially) is late spring/early summer... your post just seems to agree with mine despite you begging to differ..!?

Thanks for the "stepper motor " advice. I took it out last night it looked almost new....it was a little loose I thought, so added the Ptfe tape and replaced. Seems Ok today but the car is running rich...any tips on adjustment ?
