I Know i will get ripped off if i purchase from a so called specialist. That is why i asked the question on here, hoping to get some ideas from people who have bought some, and were happy.

I had to refurb my reflectors after I tried to get new ones from just about every source and found that they are not made any longer. I was told that the relectors are off a Scammel truck. You can get the glass from loads of the normal parts suppliers.

It's a bosch headlamp, but may no longer be made (Not Scammel, but Scania, I think you'll find).

ETA:Headlight Lens Bosch part number: 1 305 604 027
Headlight Reflector Bosch part number: 1 305 314 930.

If you look at my link, there are other links to parts specialist who place orders (if enough orders come in) to Bosch to do another production run for the reflectors.

Otherwise use the linky and find re-chromers who will refurb your reflectors for £50 or so a year ago??

I can confirm that they were discontinued in 2014 but there are (apparently) still some stocks.

Can anyone post a photo of the reflectors so I can compare with the one I have requested from one such supplier please?

The glass lens is bonded directly to the body. The reflector sits behind the lens and is adjustable for headlight alignment so modern or even older complete units cannot be fitted without significant modification of the body.
Right hand drive reflectors were no longer available many years ago so the TVR parts guys were selling LHD versions which could be modified to fit. (I've done this a simple job drilling some new holes). I've not seen these available for a long time.

When looking into your headlight lens it looks like the reflector is rusty but in most cases it is not rust the silvering has failed and you are seeing the copper plating which is the undercoat of the silvering process. In either case the silvering can be redone but i doubt it will be cheap. Not had it done myself.

Don't hold your breath!
My only knowledge of X-Parts is when they took over the stock of Rover parts following its rape and pillage by BMW and then again by Phoenix. That was a case of WIGIG.
Hope to be proved wrong.
