My 500 wont start and i think is in down to a immobiliser problem. Had the battery changed last month and its been playing up couple of times but now it wont start at all.
When i unlock it with the remote key all unlocks and seems to switch it off - Jump in and car turns over (fuel pump comes on ) but doesnt fire. Best way to describe it is its out of fuel - which ive checked ! Driving me mad ! Have a auto electrician coming over next Wednesday and £40/hour !
Ive removed battery terminals for a minute or so as it has been mentioned this may reset the alarm but no joy
Any suggestions or recommendations of mobile electrican near Beaconsfield as the summer is passing me by and the missus is getting way to smug the car wont start ! ( is it makes her sick)

any help would be fantastic !

There will be people on here to help you with better advice than me but if the engine is turning over then that suggests to me that there is nothing wrong with the immobiliser? Have you checked your spark plugs? You may have flooded the engine if you have tried several times to start.

Agree, my recent immobiliser failure prevented any current at all reaching starter; no engine turn over / clicking solenoid.

Coil / distrib cap?

I had all manner of problems with my alarm - battery drain etc etc...

I live in Bucks, but took the car to Carl Baker.

New alarm and working bootiful now (and no issues with battery)

The guy knows TVR electrics like no other!
