Front upper wishbone rear bushes
Discussion
After repairing the alarm today I figured I'd jack it up to investigate the annoying squeek from the front suspension. Well on both sides the front upper wishbone rear bushes have some play when you try and wiggle the wheel top to bottom(as if checking balljoints).
I assume its these 2 that have gone first because of the manifold heat???
Now question is do I need to change these write away as Iam causing more damage leaving them or would it be ok to leave as a winter job? Id planned in next few months to re-paint wishbones (possibly replace if to bad) replace all 4 tyres, get geo set up done, etc so I could do it all then or do I need to get it done sooner. Iam not even sure how long they've been like that, probably since I bought the car at the end of May!
After searching on here and reading the bible it seems they can be a pig of a job so is it worth getting whoever does the Geo set up to do the job or tackle it myself? I do have access to a press but just depends if can find anything suitable to press them out with. Do the wishbones themselves come off easy enough?
Any advice appreciated, any thing else I should consider doing at the same time?

Do a search, theres plenty of posts on bushes. If your reasonably handy with the spanners this is a D.I.Y job. Once you have the wishbones off, and you havent got a press, or appropriate tool for bush removal, you get a blowlamp on the bush and basically set the rubber on fire and the internal piece will fall out.You can now, VERY CAREFULLY hacksaw thru the remaining part of the bush and tap it out.
What is the condition of the wishbones themselves? You can buy new wishbones with the rubber bushes already fitted. Another alternative, [and better I.M.O ] is to fit polybushes. These are simply pushed into place, but if used in the rear upper front wishbone they need to be shielded from the exhaust manifold heat or they will melt!

I may well go down the new wishbone route just depends how bad they are when I remove them. I'd thought about poly-bushes but didn't think Id notice much difference for road use?
Anybody got any views on how long I can ignore it for??? It feels ok when driving and there's only a bit of play in them both when you rock the wheels, it is only both the rear bushes, the others seem ok. I'd just rather do a proper job over winter than rush it now.
