Hello all!!,

After 8 years and all manner of cars bought and sold, I have finally bought a car from the marque I have always wanted.

This is it:

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3138334.htm

All looks nice, expect a few bits and bobs to do so taking it to bespokeperformance next week to have a little lookie.

On the plus side, it'll be a lot more interesting to drive than my dull 350z. On track, I'll keep the Ariel Atom thanks. ;-)

Good work! I remember speaking to you at the last PH meet and you were saying about getting a Tiv. I didn't realise you meant you were getting one so soon.

Looks like you got yourself a bargain there. She looks in very good condition. The engine bay looks great as well. Are you going to bring her along to the September meet?

Thanks for the welcome, hope to get to a TVR meet at some point in the near future.

Was a bit of an impulse buy, went to look at a few Tam's, the £££ didn't really make sense, could get a mk1 Tuscan for similar money (Tuscan a bit too big for my needs), concluded Tam's were a bit pricey. Also, found them very claustrophobic, not sure why, to me I think the car is a little too compact.

Anyhow, not too keen on the Griff (although the sensible money goes on these). Chimaera test drive ticked all the boxes and found a tidy one for a good price. First proper drive today, went targa to the BP garage, just sitting in a petrol q with the car grumbling away made me smile. smile That RV8 is a spitfire for the road.

Happy chappy.

Well that was short, but very sweet indeed.

My TVR will be back up for sale very soon, an awesome beast and as I seemed to have picked a good'un (so bespokeperformance tell me) a very nice ride.

Now I understand the TVR thing, i may return for a blast in another early chim (loved the lack of power steering/v8 rumble combo), but my short term ownership has ended due to my desperate need for a reliable tow car for the Atom, that doubles as a reliable car for the mrs to drive while her 12 year old fiesta falls apart around her ears.

I don't suppose anyone here kept the details of the car for sale back in August? (i think a few may have been following it) It had a big list of work done and some nice shiney pictures that I would like to use again for my PH advert. Car has worked like a dream, and the V8 rumble will be missed muchly.

ta, ho hum...

The car was advertised on ebay as well - not sure though how far back you can see ended listings

Sorry to hear you are parting with the chim so soon, glad you enjoyed Tiv ownership though thumbup

I do remember the advert, very detailed description and lots of pics. Like you say would be nice and easy to modify the existing ad and repost rather than do all the work again. Does the previous owner still have a copy of the ad?

Thanks for the pointers, have emailed the previous owner, he said the PH post is long gone and the ebay postings are not kept for longer than 60 days. I have a big list from the owner, but even he says it's not as complete as the previous advert.

I'll put it up for sale in the PH classifieds/ebay with all the details I have, and just recommend essential viewing, they can then have a good look through the files of receipts to see what else has been done.

Really enjoyed the TVR experience, but I need to use the Atom as much as possible in the off season to justify keeping it. I have unfinished business with it next year in SC form. As said, the Mrs 1.25 ford fiesta zeetec 'Atom support vehicle' is not long for the scrap heap, so need a backup.

Even the new M5 V8 that I'm looking at in 2013 (should be a performance bargain after 2 years depreciation) as an Atom replacement won't have that rover v8 sound... Chim certainly is an 'event' on every drive.

I have't been out in mine for about a month.

Nice day today so thought I would go for a spin. I have only owned it since August and drive a Boxster day to day.

I actually find myself laughing to myself as I drive and hear the noise as I roar past other cars! I don't think I have done that in many cars I have driven lol
