exhaust wrap

Mt 93 chim seems to run very hot. On sunday in heavy traffic the temp rose to about 96 c. luckily we got moving again and it soon dropped back to 90. I have invested in some exhaust wrap but have read that this can make the problem worse? Do you recommend its use or not? I have also got some water wetter any experience?

I'd advise a fan mod of some decription, then YOU can decide what temp the engine runs at!

I have a fan overide switch fitted. Brilliant.

I recommend exhaust wrap (along with a starter motor heatshield)
You should also get a fan override switch fitted, so that you can switch the fans on before it gets that hot

I have started about 3 threads in the Griff forum about cooling the cabin.
One of these is on exhaust insulation.

Might be worth while you having a peek in them as there is lots of good advice.

I have checked my whole system and its all working as it should be (well, it is now I have sorted a few things!). It still gets hot in the cabin though.

I can confirm that big Al's vents blow cold, very cold, and Im jealous! This is what has started my mission.

The first thing Im going to try is a variable speed fan set up to keep the air moving under the bonnet. Im hoping this will prevent heat soak.

I may also wrap the manifolds but not the cat and also add a second layer of insulation down the sides of the engine bay.

BTW: A/C is £3K!
