So as the front of the car is in bits to fit a full set of wishbones and to tidy up the chassis I have also been buying new balljoints, droplinks etc to go with it.

So on the balljoint purchase:

Lower front balljoint TVR C0036 :
Racing Green Price: £ 48.00 ex vat
RaceTech Price: £ 48.00 ex vat
Clever Trevor price: £ 30.00 ex vat

Upper front balljoint TVR C0035 :
Racing Green Price: £ 28.27 ex vat
RaceTech Price: £ 19.95 ex vat
Clever Trevor price: £ 20.80 ex vat

..so the mystery for me is that Clever Trvor and Racing Green seem to be either in partnership or indeed the same underlying company (order receipt comes from Racing Green when shopping on Clevor Trvor), so why on earth do they have %50 difference in the price for what I assume is exactly the same part?

Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Matt.

Take care.. the bottom ones can lock out at full drop of the arms!... I got some extra articulation ones... and they just did it... dread to think what pressures on the other type!!... one thing for sure.. you don't want it to come apart!!

The original specified ball joint external diameter was 40mm, the wishbones being designed to accept this size and allow full camber adjustment.
There are many ball joints on sale now that are 44mm diameter. When fitting these the ball joint will clash with the throat of the wishbone and restrict camber adjustment, possibly not allowing even stock camber setting.
If you dont want a problem buy the correct size. Not sure where from, but ask the question. Anything more than 40mm will be an issue. Assuming its Griff or Chim.

I have bought them from Clever Trevor so assume they will be just fine, I was just highlighting the bizzare pricing across what seems to be the same company ! smile
