Stereo connections

I'm fed up with my original pioneer radio cassette.

I managed to get it out of the car yesterday but am wondering if anyone has tips on a good replacement to fit in it's place.

By good I mean

1. Fits onto the long thin connector block that plugs directly onto the current pioneer unit
2. Fits easily via a connector to the black 'cube' connector (anyone found out what type that is)

Something fairly basic and not too bling, although silver looks pretty good to me (but not with flames painted across the panel )

Actually whilst i'm at it does anyone find vibration a problem with their cd header unit, or know one thats particularly good at coping

Depending on your budget, what about another Pioneer unit, a mate of mine had this one, sounded good looked nice (ie no flashing lights, or fancy graphics), should be a direct replacement for your old one.

Mmmmmmmm,

...not for the first time a TVR owner considers blowing the budget!!!!!

I decided to get this, classic style, top notch performance, could've been made for a TVR!!!!

Just fitted one of those in my car, also added rear speakers. Dissapointed with the low frequencies. Could do with more bass. overall though a fine stereo for a TVR, doesn't look out of place.
Visited Silverstone TVR yesterday and the same stereo is in 2 Tamoras. Maybe they ware STD fit!

You might want to consider this model. I wanted one that matched the interior and gave a good quality sound.

I've upgraded my tuner/speakers and autochanger (pics below). So if anyone wants the standard TVR stereo (oops, no advertising).

Tuner with single CD in dash (Alpine CDA-98212)
6 CD Autochanger (Alpine CHM-5630)

Cost of tuner/cd and autochanger £580 fitted. Think the dash/tuner was about £250.

Infinity speakers : doors (Infinity 5002i) and rear (Infinity 6x9's 9603i). £200 fitted

Fantastic sound ..... without the bling

Forget about the radio!

Agree with above photos.. I have ALPINE... If you really want a nice head unit then go for a Becker.. about the best money can buy but you will need quite allot of it.. Them and alpine seem to be the only ones that haven't gone completely OTT with flashing lights and completely pointless features.. Sorry i'm ranting but it's one of my pet hates....

Have gone for the Pioneer on the less is more principle.

Will give it a test, I figure I can return if I don't like it in the flesh.
