It was deleted because members were opening posting sensitive security information on a public forum.

So why not delete those sensitive posts and put a closing comment on the thread for the benefit of the OP?

He's done nothing wrong and like me is wondering what's going on.

Don't shoot me I'm only the messenger, I wasn't around but I would guess that it wasn't just one post it was a little more complex, or the moderator didn't have a lot of time on his hands to start editing.

ETA

Also a deletion email would have been sent.

It may not have been your post that was the problem. Your question was just the catalyst that made some members supply the answers they did.

The deletion email sometimes get routed to your spam folder. smile

Guys I put the complaint post on, while simple question may have been asked at the start off the post, the information and photos put up gave far to much information on the security off the cars.
If you need that information then please buy a copy of the bible by S Heath

Big Al thank-you for deleting and good job.

Guys,
What was posted on my thread, i have found on numerous websites, and more importantly on other threads on pistonheads..The only thing im peeved about is that the people who posted, have saved me a few hundred quid as i found a cat1 alarm where they said it would be, and i now cannot thank them.

You might have found similar information posted, but what was posted made five different owner feel the need to send in reports to get said info removed!

So I think as this thread is now going circular it's time to bring it to a close, with just a precautionary warning to remind members that even through they may think they are trying to be helpful, it's better to mail sensitive information rather than post it openly on a public website.
