Morning guys, yep good to see you Derek, brief as it was... Still don't know who I waved to who must have just left as we were about to arrive... Drove down from Huntingdon in convoy with my daughter and her OH, they were on his Hayabusa, which made for an entertaining ride on the way there and on the way back
Naturally the Busa is quicker at the moment coz I'm still running in
I've done around 900 miles now, so coming up for the second oil change since the rebuild, and a remap from Rob. Probably fit the new Helix clutch at the same time... In terms of BHP, we were kinda thinking aaround 350. When the engine was stripped there were a few surprises, which included a worn cam (one lobe), but most surprising was that when Rob removed the plenum there were no trumpets under it
and each inlet in the base had been 'blended'. I understand that this mod gives a bigger peak bhp figure but reduces torque lower down the rev range, which would seem to be borne out by the RR session back in March, although how much effect the worn cam lobe had I don't know. There was also a huge difference between the two runs, which I can only put down to the engine being significantly hotter... Interestingly, the wheel and torque figures weren't too different, but fly bhp dropped by 15 bhp. Even allowing for the vagaries of calculated fly figures it still seems alot.
Jack, I use Clive Atthowe Tuning in Norwich.
Anyways, for camparison, here's the figures from the March run...
