Like it's hitting the rev limiter?

Mine was the same, around town was fine, but when I was getting up the rev range the revs just died off.

Broken number 8 lead.

It could be one of a number of things Frog.

Here are just some possibles:

1) Induction restriction (inner wing intake pipe collapsed, this is common, replace with ACT induction kit)

2) Throttle butterfly not fully opening (also common, check & adjust linkage & cable)

3) Distributor not advancing (mechanical advance partially seized)

4) Rotor arm failure (must be a genuine Lucas)

5) Range Rover ECU fitted (RR ECU has a speed limiter in it that was removed by TVR)

6) Range Rover distributor fitted (has a different advance curve to the modified TVR distributor)

7) Ignition coil starting to break down (normally accompanied by a misfire so unlikely)

I would start at the top of my list and work your way down.

Why would you want to rev a stocker so high... it's well peaked by then and you're just making noise. Change gear smile
